Single Mum of Four Gains two Degrees.
As a single mum I never have enough energy or have enough hours in the day. But single mum Vicky Garnett has managed to juggle looking after her four children, teaching part time, all the normal mum things like housework etc and also complete 2 post-graduate degrees in Blackburn and Liverpool.
For the past two years she has got by on just five hours sleep a night as she studied. It has paid off though as she graduated with a merit for an MSc in Health, Exercise and Nutrition and a post-graduate teaching qualification. She isn’t calling it a day there though as she has now secured a place at Selford University to complete a Phd about asthma in children.
Its amazing the drive and determination Vicky has to carve a career as a university lecturer to a provide a secure and financial future for her 4 children. And proof that not all single mums are sitting at home on benefits as the media paints us.
Big well done to Vicky from Confessions of a single mumÂ

I am a mum of four with just as much determination. however I have a husband who earns around £21,000 a year. Therefore do not have the opportunity to get the degree in social care that i have wanted since my 4TH baby was born over 3 years ago. My options are stay at home or work in a supermarket! sometimes being a single parent is much more beneficial than having a loving husband who works hard to keep us afloat!
