Beauty is….
My evening with my friend Sarah has been the most thought provoking experience in this whole month of beauty thing.
Sara is one of those superwomen; she runs a successful beauty salon, has 4 children and has a life and all whilst looking effortlessly gorgeous. I did think that running your own beauty salon full of gorgeous products from Clarins would be what she puts it all down to. But I was in for a shock. Sarah has made the bold step of moving Number Four away from Clarins and stocking a new range of products. A simpler, cheaper product range. Why? One of the reasons behind the move is that she firmly believes that you can make your beauty routine as expensive or cheap as you want, one that fits your budget. But that it’s not so much the products but the treatments that count more. That’s easy to say but I didn’t quiet get it.
When I went to Sarah I was my normal tired self. As she talked to me she treated me to a back, neck and shoulder massage. This isn’t something I have had before so as a nervous massage newbie I let her get on with what she knows best. When I left I was almost skipping, I was grinning like a loony and to me looked more beautiful. Nothing had been done that included expensive potions and lotions. A simple massage (and a good talking to by her on my worries of looking older)
My evening with Sarah was several weeks ago but I couldn’t write this up straight away as I couldn’t put into words the ‘I get it’ moment. What I took away from the evening was that looking and feeling beautiful is more in our head then what we put on our faces. It’s doing things you love. Being around people you love. Being positive and happy with yourself. Beauty really starts from the inside out.
