When I heard that Donna Air had teamed up with eHarmony to talk about her online dating quest to find a perfect partner, I’m afraid my first response was a fit of giggles. Why would a gorgeous successful woman need to use online dating to find a partner? But then I got thinking on it, actually its quiet a smart move. For those of you who haven’t a clue who she is or too young to know who she is, Donna Air is an actress and TV personality. She was in the CBBC series Biker Grove and also presented The Big Breakfast.

Not that I am famous or actually know anyone famous but I can imagine having a recognisable face does come with drawbacks especially in the conventional dating world. Also she is a single mum to her 8yr old daughter. Now we all know how little time single mums have to do every day things let alone fitting in perfect partner finding, so we know where she is coming from on that one. She still does run of the mill parent things just like you and I. She still spends time doing bed time routines, housework and has a career .So with online dating she can weed out a lot more of the star struck men and concentrate more on the suitable list. She can peruse a list of suitable dates at her leisure and in her pj’s.

Donna hasn’t just dabbled in online dating half heartedly though. She has four and a half years experience on the London dating scene which has brought her to teem up with eHarmony as a guest writer on their blog to talk about it all.

Donna’s blog will follow the theme of ‘Dating the second time around’ which is also the subject of a recent book by Dr Gian Gonzaga the Senior Relationship Scientist at eHarmony. Her blog promises to provide honest and amusing first person anecdotes as well as advice and keeping readers updated as she juggles single parenthood and dating online in search of Mr Right and Confessions of a Single Mum is going to be following it and I’ll be chiming in with my two pennies worth too.

Being a Single Mum

Being a single mum is hard work ...and thats the good days. This is my little corner of the world where I waffle on about being a single parent to two teenagers and my life with two cats and a veg patch.
