If I Won the Lottery
Now the chances of me winning the lottery are pretty slim seeing as I don’t currently purchase a lottery ticket each week. Well never at all actually but this may change. I learnt last night that the corner shop is going to start doing lottery tickets so I best have my wish list figured out.
First off I wouldn’t rush into anything. I would do the ‘family and friends’ bit first making sure they were all treated to something.
Then I would treat the kids to a shopping spree. We rarely go out ‘nice’ shopping instead just getting things when we need them. It would be rather nice, if not a little strange, to be able to buy something purely because we like it and we can buy it.
I rather like my little house with its huge big windows but it is rented so buying a house would be on the list. Nothing big or flash but with bedrooms where you have enough room to move about would be rather novel. Oh and it would have to have a second or even third loo. Presently I have just one bathroom which means one loo and one shower in the same small room. If you have a teenage daughter you will feel my pain. They say that showering uses less water and I guess it does generally but not when you have a teenage daughter it doesn’t. Oh and it would have to have a garden suitable for vegetable growing and a room I could convert into a craft studio.
It wasn’t till I was nearly 40 that I started to be able to afford to purchase new furniture. The salesman was rather started when he was greeted by an overly excited grown woman (me) jumping up and down for joy as she purchased her first bed. New furniture would be on the list too. I’m not particularly trendy or fashion following so just functional and practical would be fine. There is one exception and that would be my craft studio. I saw a picture once of a studio done out in French furniture. It was a real picture and not a glossy advert but just how lovely and creative you would be with a grown up desk on one of those French style pieces all swirly and swish.
I love my little car with all its quirks but the novelty of the heating only switching on when you do a right turn is starting to wear slightly. Or the fact when you press the button to close the window it likes to go part way up, stop, go all the way down and then stay there till you press close again. So maybe just a newer model might do.
I think the best thing about winning the lottery would be the fact I would be able to help others. To put a smile on other people’s faces. What you spend your winnings on?
