Thursday, September 26: Go to a coffee shop. Order a favorite drink. Write about what makes you happy and what makes you sad. Or write about anything you’d like! Bonus points for including a photo from the coffee shop. *if you can’t make it to a coffee shop, at least leave your usual space and write someplace new.
Coffee shop…hmm looks around then has a think. Nearest nice coffee shop is a car trip or long walk away and at this time of night ( gone 9pm) would not be too chuffed to open up just for me even it is for Blogtember. So I have failed on that one. I normally do all my work at either my desk, which really isn’t inspiring or tidy enough to take a picture ( makes note – desk re-vamp well overdue) or at the dining table which again isn’t photogenic ( makes another note – save up for new dining table). So to be sat in bed, photo below so I sort of get the bonus points, with netbook, one of the cats, a bag of chocolate limes and glass of water is a real treat. Well it would be if the cat would stop trying to find the right spot and settle down.
What makes me happy is a very easy to answer. Many years ago I took the steps to de-stress my life and to worry-less. I live a simpler life. Its either black or white and I dont worry about the grey bits. This sort of life can come across a bit harsh but once I stopped worrying what people thought it got easier. Happiness is found in the smaller things in a simpler life and you realise the small things are actually the big important things. May current happiness is my new bedding, yes the one in the photo, its just so snugly. Its not some expensive thread count or posh Egyptian cotton just brushed cotton. Its soft, strokeable and warm. Its there at the end of the day to make me smile and comfort me.
What makes me sad? Not a lot really. There is the stuff like war’s and violence and the state of the world and most the numpties in it but at the end of the day in my day to day life there isn’t much room for sadness. If I do feel a tad sad I remind myself how lucky I am and ….do I dare confess to this …oh heck in for a penny and all that……I sing Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Zip-A-Dee-Ay. There it is I have confessed to it. Now if you see me in the street and I look like I am singing please close your ears.
