Four Moments of Yay
I know, I know I haven’t been around much. There is so much exciting stuff going on and with the time and clone machine broken I could only be in one place at a time.

So here I am in the car waiting for the teen, don’t panic I’m not driving, teen has a horse riding lesson and it was just easier to sit and wait for an hour instead of back and forth. I can’t fault her dedication as its absolutely tipping it down and it’s turned really cold. I can just about make her out through the rain, she is carrying tack (right term? I’m obviously not the horsy kind) with the biggest grin on her face. As lovely and wholesome as this all is for her, I and the tween are sat here with more books than the local library and I obviously bought pen and paper.

For me there are two signals that I need to be starting on the vegetable patch. First good old Monty is back on the TV screens with Gardeners World. I drool in envy as he potters about in never ending garden. He even makes digging look effortless with not a bead of sweet to be seen. And I swear he has never had a weed in his garden. The other signal is spotting my elderly neighbours gardening gear on the washing line, all cleaned ready for the season. This is followed a few days later by him also pottering in his garden next to mine. His, like mine, is more postage stamp than acreage but still his is perfectly kept. Not a weed in sight and flowers start to bloom in carefully themed colours.

When buying lingerie it’s really important to make sure you buy some that fits, especially when buying online.
It is especially important that you get the right size bra, because roughly around 85 per cent of women wear the wrong size bra. If you do buy the wrong bra size, not only can it look terrible, but it can also be really uncomfortable. What’s more, your bra size changes over time depending on circumstances “ you may lose weight or gain weight, or your breast size may change post pregnancy. Therefore, it is a good idea to measure your breasts on a regular basis.

I have today made the bold step of cancelling Mothers Day in my house. Well not fully as my mother wouldn’t understand and would be hurt so it still continues for her but for my children I have released them of the yearly ritual of making them go out to get a card and act like dutiful children for the day.

I have an evening to myself. No kids, all work sorted for next week and chocolates at the ready. I should be laid back all relaxed, chilled out as i flick from one channel to another relishing having sole command of the TV channels. But I am not. I am restless and watching the clock, it’s only 6.30pm.

Warning there now follows the rambling writings of a mad woman thoroughly pissed off with her local town. Surely not all towns are like this, there must be better towns out there.
I have birthday money, hang on that sounds like I am 8years old again. I decided I wanted to treat myself with the lovely gifts of money I received for my birthday…that’s better. So of I trotted to my local town.
Read MoreWhat I Have Learnt This Week
The past 7 days have been eventful and full of learning, some good and some bad. First off I turned 41 last Saturday, although right now it feels years ago, I learnt that although I thought I would self explode actually I didn’t. I was spoilt rotten and realised actually how thoughtful both my children are. I of course take full credit for this trait in them.
I learnt how the value of a good community can pull together or pull apart. I belong to various online communities, some are actual networks others being the mum bloggers (or blogger who happens to be a mum).

As I am still rather busy with that strange thing they call work, a few other single mums have answered my pleas for help. Its lovely to hear other single mums stories and today’s is from Sharon.
Last week I stayed in on Friday night, fighting the desire to get my PJs on, counting the minutes until it was time to pick my son up from a party – his first ‘proper’ Friday night house party (long gone are the days when they were events involving jelly and ice cream).

Its the final week of the #dosomethingyummy link up which can be found over at Nickie’s blog IAmTypecast . Its aim is to raise awareness for the children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent. Nickie wants a massive push in this last week to really make its mark. This week’s prompt is about survival, a subject very dear to Nickie’s heart.
Survival is a instinct, so the books tell us. We naturally want to survive. But what happens when you have lost your world, how do you survive or even want to survive after that. I don’t have a personal story of surviving cancer and I could never write such a moving piece as Nickies own story. But my family has been touched by the cruel hands of cancer and there is survival, of sorts, in that.

If you are a parent with teenage children who are starting to drive, then you are surely familiar with a huge range of common concerns. Obviously, you worry for your children’s safety as they take to the road for the first time; but you also have many other specific concerns to fret over. Will your children be careful with their cars? Will they know to be weary of reckless drivers? Will they practice appropriate caution and safety?

Times change, what was considered fashionable when I was 15 is now considered archaic . When I was busy being a 15 year old teenager the first laptop was being unveiled, the M25 was completed and Top Gun and Crocodile Dundee were in the cinemas. I wanted to see how different some of the common day things are so I composed a list of things that I can remember from 26 years ago ( pushing the brain cells a bit) then got my 15 year old daughter to tell me her thoughts on things now.

Mothers Day this year is March 18th. Its creeping up fast and I am still faffing around with mothers days card prototypes. Organised? Me ? No hope really. So as I was knee high in glitter, as usual, my father who has recently discovered how to email sent me two ‘mother’ emails. He has finally got passed the stage of sending pictures of cute bunnies etc, were now onto proverbs and thoughtful quotes. If you haven’t seen these they are quiet good so I thought I would share. Oh and some pictures of the prototypes of course, for your feedback and a recent commission I did.
