Where Have I Been and What’s Next?

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

If you’ve followed this blog from the early days, you’ll know I started Confessions of a Single Mum when my children were still young—back when life was all packed lunches, endless laundry, and trying to remember if it was non-uniform day or not (usually at the last minute).

Well, those children aren’t so little anymore. My daughter is now 28, living in her own home and doing an amazing job of turning it into a beautiful space. My son is 26—he went off to university and loved the town so much, he decided to stay there. Watching them build their own lives has been a proud, sometimes surreal, but ultimately joyful experience.

And me? I’m no longer a single mum.

In 2017, I met someone lovely. We married in 2021, and in 2024 we bought our first home together. Over the past year, we’ve been making it our own—slowly but surely turning it into the warm, calm, and creative space I’d always dreamed of. One of my favourite spots? The garden, which I proudly call my “outside office.” It’s where I spend most days drawing, dreaming, and working surrounded by birdsong and the occasional breeze.

So What’s This Blog About Now?

I’ve asked myself this question a lot over the past year. For a long time, Confessions of a Single Mum was a lifeline—for me and for many of you reading. It was raw, honest, a bit chaotic (like life as a single mum tends to be), and full of lessons learned the hard way.

But now, I’m in a very different chapter.

I live with M.E and IBS, which means I need to work gently, from home, and on my own terms. That might sound limiting—but honestly, it’s the life I always hoped for. These days, I get to sit in the garden and draw, take things at my own pace, and run four Etsy shops doing work I love. I’m truly, finally, living the dream (with a side of peppermint tea and pacing myself, of course).

Where You’ll Find Me Now

This blog will still be here—just with a slightly new flavour. Less school-run chaos, more creative living. I’ll be writing about:

  • Life after parenting
  • Creative routines and gentle productivity
  • Learning to start over (even when it’s scary)
  • And finding joy in this quieter, slower phase of life

If you like invitations, I now run an Etsy shop full of editable kids party invites (yes, I still love a good party theme!). I also run a blog called Living the Hustle where I share what I’ve learned about earning money online through Etsy, digital products, and creative side hustles. It’s all written with beginners in mind, and a bit of humour along the way.

So, What’s Next?

I’m not trying to go viral or build an empire. I’m just here to share a little corner of my world—a space for other women who’ve raised kids, reinvented themselves, and are learning to slow down without giving up their spark.

If that’s you, you’re in the right place.

Thank you for still being here.
